Senvion India’s 4.2M160 Wind Turbine Secures MNRE ALMM (Wind) Listing

Mumbai – Senvion India is pleased to announce that its new 4.2M160 wind turbine model has been included in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) – Wind, issued on 30thDecember 2025

The ALMM (Wind) framework of MNRE, formerly known as the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM), streamlines model qualification and strengthen quality assurance for India’s rapidly expanding wind energy sector, further the recent changes have sown the seeds for enhancing the localisation to strengthen domestic manufacturing.

With a 4.2 MW rated capacity and a 160-metre rotor diameter, the Senvion 4.2M160 is now listed for hub heights up to 140 metres, enabling its deployment in full compliance with MNRE’s model listing requirements.

Additionally, Senvion India has already secured firm orders exceeding 600 MW for the 4.2M160 turbine, along with a long-term framework agreement of 2 GW spread across three years, underscoring strong customer confidence in the platform.

High-Performance Technology Made-in-India:

The Senvion 4.2M160 brings several advanced features tailored for India’s operational and climatic conditions, including:

High localisation (>85%), supported by a robust pan India manufacturing footprint across blades, tower, nacelle and hub.

  • ReT 78.5m blades with industry-leading lightning protection
  • Highest derating thresholds in its segmentup to 45 degrees, supported by a hybrid active–passive cooling system
  • Single-blade installation capability for more efficient project execution in all types of terrain
  • Future-ready SCADA (FleetPro®) with real time monitoring, predictive analytics, and full compliance with grid and cybersecurity standards
  • AI-integrated adaptive controls for improved energy capture in low-wind regimes
