New Delhi – KP Group continues to strengthen its position through consistent project execution, expanding operating capacity and the development of integrated capabilities across the renewable energy value chain. Founded in 1994, KP Group has built its business over more than three decades by converting renewable energy opportunities into commissioned assets, long-term power projects and sustainable operating businesses.

The Group’s journey has been shaped by measurable delivery across solar, wind, hybrid power, battery energy storage, operations and maintenance, power evacuation infrastructure and renewable energy trading.

Renewables Set to Surpass Gas as Capacity Grows by 83 GW

The performance of KP Group’s listed renewable energy companies demonstrates the scale of business created over the years.

Between FY21 and FY26, KPI Green Energy’s total income increased from ₹104 crore to ₹2,742 crore, while profit after tax increased from ₹14 crore to ₹509 crore.

During the same period, KP Energy’s total income expanded from ₹73 crore to ₹1,506 crore, while profit after tax increased from ₹6 crore to ₹181 crore.

These figures represent an established operating record rather than future projections. They demonstrate the company’s ability to scale its businesses while remaining profitable and building a larger base of renewable energy assets and projects.

Commenting on the Group’s journey, Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director, KP Group, said, “Trust is not built through a single announcement or one quarter of performance. It is earned over the years through consistent execution, responsible business practices and the ability to deliver on commitments. Our journey from developing individual renewable energy projects to building a portfolio exceeding 9.2 GW reflects the capabilities of our people and the confidence placed in us by customers, lenders, investors and other stakeholders. We remain committed to disciplined execution, financial responsibility and the creation of sustainable long-term value.”

Capabilities extending across the renewable energy value chain

KPI Green Energy has developed capabilities across the renewable energy value chain, both in the IPP -Independent Power Producer as well as EPC – Engineering, Procurement and Construction segments.

KPI Green Energy has built a renewable energy capacity portfolio of approximately 6.94 GW, comprising 1.87 GW of installed capacity and 5.07 GW under execution.

The company is also supported by a strategic land bank of more than 8,650 acres and approximately 5.10 GW of power evacuation capacity. These capabilities help reduce project-development risks and support faster execution.

KP Energy has established itself as an end-to-end wind and wind-solar hybrid energy solutions provider. Its capabilities extend from wind-resource assessment and land acquisition to engineering, project construction, commissioning, power evacuation and long-term operations and maintenance.

The company has delivered more than 1.57 GW of installed capacity and developed a total renewable energy portfolio of approximately 3.73 GW. It also has approximately 2.16 GW of projects in hand and an operations and maintenance portfolio of 646 MW.

Execution demonstrated through commissioned projects

The companies’ capabilities are reflected in renewable energy projects delivered for government utilities, public-sector enterprises and major industrial customers.

Recent project milestones include the commissioning of utility-scale solar, wind and hybrid projects at Khavda, Bharuch, Bhavnagar and Kutch, along with the execution of projects for organisations such as GUVNL, Coal India, NTPC Renewable Energy, SJVN and MAHAGENCO.

The Group is also expanding into future-ready areas such as battery energy storage and floating solar. KPI Green Energy has signed agreements for 565 MW/1,130 MWh of battery energy storage capacity and is executing a 142 MWp floating solar EPC project at Kadana Dam in Gujarat.

The Group is also strengthening its energy trading capabilities to connect renewable power generation with evolving market and customer requirements.

These projects demonstrate the Group’s ability to execute across different technologies, terrains, customer categories and project structures.

Financial discipline and institutional credibility

KPI Green Energy’s ₹670 crore externally credit-enhanced green bond issuance further reflects the company’s access to institutional capital and its ability to finance renewable energy projects through innovative structures.

The green bond, rated AA+(CE), received recognition at The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Finance Awards 2026 in Singapore.

The Group remains focused on disciplined capital allocation, timely project commissioning, operational efficiency and responsible financial management as its project base expands.

On 22 January 2019, a Surat-based solar company called K.P.I. Global Infrastructure listed on the SME platform of the BSE at ₹80 a share. The entire offer raised ₹39.94 crore.

Seven and a half years later, that company is KPI Green Energy Limited, and its record since listing is one that few Indian listed companies of any size can match.

An investor who bought one share in that IPO does not hold one share today. Between 2023 and 2025 the company issued bonus shares three times and split its stock once, a 1:1 bonus in January 2023, a 1:2 bonus in February 2024, a 1:2 split in July 2024 that took the face value from ₹10 to ₹5, and a third bonus, again 1:2, in January 2025.

Together, every share bought at ₹80 in the IPO has become 9 shares .

That changes the arithmetic entirely. The effective cost of each of those nine shares is ₹8.89. At the closing price of ₹308.90 on 18 August 2026, the same original holding is worth ₹2,780, a gain of about 34.7 times, or roughly 3,375 per cent, over seven years and seven months.

The minimum application in the IPO makes the point most clearly. The minimum lot was 1,600 shares, costing ₹1,28,000. Those 1,600 shares are now 14,400 shares, worth about ₹44.5 lakh today. Dividends received along the way are over and above this.

The journey was not only about price. In July 2021, the company graduated from the BSE SME platform to the BSE mainboard and listed simultaneously on the National Stock Exchange, a step only a small percentage of SME-listed companies ever complete. In April 2022, it became KPI Green Energy Limited.

Advancing towards the 2030 vision

KP Group’s renewable energy portfolio has crossed 9.2 GW, bringing it closer to its stated target of 10 GW by 2030.

The Group’s future plans are supported by an existing project pipeline, secured land access, power evacuation infrastructure, long-term customer relationships and capabilities across solar, wind, hybrid energy and storage.

Commitment to stakeholders

KP Group respects the trust placed in it by shareholders, customers, employees, lenders, partners and communities.

The Group will continue to maintain transparency through regulatory disclosures and regular stakeholder communication while remaining focused on its core responsibility: executing projects, commissioning renewable energy capacity and building resilient businesses for the future.
