Mumbai : Collective Artists Network’s Collective Creative Labs (CCL) recently executed a travel-led campaign for OPPO’s upcoming Reno15 Series, reflecting a noticeable shift in how travel and lifestyle advertising is being produced today, moving away from tightly controlled setups and towards more adaptive, on-ground execution.
Shot entirely on location across Kerala, the campaign was built around real environments, natural light, and moment-led storytelling. Instead of trying to manufacture spontaneity in post-production, the team designed the shoot itself to stay flexible, allowing the story to take shape organically as conditions changed on ground.
The execution unfolded across Kochi, Alappuzha, and Athirapalli over three days, with the crew navigating a mix of terrains and access constraints. Some locations were reachable only by water, while others had limited entry windows due to forest restrictions. Coordinating talent schedules, equipment movement, and travel across land and waterways, all while working through unpredictable weather, required a production approach that could respond in real time rather than rely on rigid plans.
For CCL, the focus was less on scale and more on building a production system that could stay fluid under pressure. As brands increasingly look for travel and lifestyle content that feels natural, mobile-first, and unforced, this kind of responsiveness is becoming as important as creative output itself.
“A strong idea can still fall apart if the execution isn’t thought through end to end. On this campaign, production required original thinking at every step, from access and movement to how we used time and location.” said Sanjana Jain, CEO, Collective Creative Labs. “Those problem-solving decisions shape the final work as much as the concept itself.”
The campaign points to a broader change in advertising production, particularly in the travel and lifestyle space, where agencies are rethinking how work is executed, placing greater value on adaptability, real environments, and decision-making in the moment.
