Gruner Renewable Energy (GRE), based in Noida, has announced that it secured several projects valued at Rs 15 billion for compressed biogas (CBG) plants throughout India. The company obtained these projects in its first year of operation. Gruner announced it secured eleven projects valued at Rs 11 billion from a major Indian business conglomerate, along with 19 additional projects worth Rs 4 billion from various individual business leaders.
Gruner plans to build these CBG plants across India, with a total production capacity of 88,000 tonnes of CBG per year. The projects will be strategically spread across several cities, including Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, Satna in Madhya Pradesh, Balasore in Orissa, Navsari in Gujarat, Yavatmal in Maharashtra, Vijayawada and Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, among others.
Gruner, which began operations in February 2023, currently manages a strong portfolio of 30 ongoing projects across the country. The company plans to expand its project count to 100, with a target for new order values of Rs 50 billion for the fiscal year 2024-25.
In August 2023, GRE announced India’s first Napier Grass Bio-CNG plant, based in Lasanpur Village, Wardha district of Maharashtra.
