Vestas has secured its first US offshore wind contract with Equinor for the 810 MW Empire Wind 1 project in New York. The order includes the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines, along with a comprehensive five-year service agreement to ensure optimal performance and long-term support.

This deal involves 54 V236-15.0 MW turbines and marks Vestas’ initial entry into the US offshore market. The V236-15.0 MW turbine boasts type certification for safety and quality. Since its introduction, Vestas has secured over 13 GW of orders and preferred supplier agreements globally.
