Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) and Tata Motors have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to jointly develop a 131 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project. The project is designed to supply green electricity exclusively to six of Tata Motors’ manufacturing plants located in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Additionally, the project is expected to generate approximately 300 million units of clean electricity annually. This output is projected to offset more than 200,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. The renewable energy generated will directly support Tata Motors’ production of commercial and passenger vehicles across its facilities.
Furthermore, the initiative also contributes toward achieving the company’s RE-100 commitment ahead of the 2030 deadline and supports its broader goal of reaching net-zero emissions. With this development, TPREL’s cumulative group captive capacity will reach 1.5 GW.
