ReNew has inaugurated a 1,300 MW peak solar power project in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan.
The project is spread over approximately 3,500 acres, and covers villages in the Pokran and Bhaniyana tehsils. Around 90 per cent of the solar panels used in this utility-scale installation were manufactured at ReNew’s factory in Jaipur. The energy produced will be supplied to Rajasthan consumers at a tariff of Rs 2.18 per kWh. Reportedly, the project will be able to meet the annual energy needs of around 500,000 households in the state.
