TotalEnergies and European Energy have formed a partnership to strengthen cooperation on future renewable energy projects. The two companies have inked a joint declaration to pursue the development of offshore wind projects in Denmark. They will also explore cooperation on onshore renewables and low-carbon molecules projects.

Furthermore, this partnership also represents the shared interest of the two companies to participate in the new upcoming Danish offshore wind tender. This declaration also strengthens the long-standing partnership between the two companies, which includes two offshore wind projects. These are the Lillebælt Syd and the Jammerland Bugt, which were granted establishment permits by the Danish Energy Agency in December 2024.

Earlier in October 2024, TotalEnergies inked an agreement with RWE to acquire a 50 per cent stake in two offshore wind projects, N-9.1 and N-9.2, in the North Sea. Both projects, each with a capacity of 2 GW, are situated 110 km off the German coast. The projects come with 25-year licences that can be extended to 35 years. RWE was awarded the sites in August in the latest offshore wind auction.
