RECPDCL floats tender for development of ISTS to evacuate 2 GW of solar power

REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) has issued a request for proposal (RfP) for the development of an intrastate transmission system (ISTS) for the evacuation of solar power. The power will be evacuated from a 2,000 MW solar park at Ryapte, in Karnataka.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work covers the design, engineering, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of five 500 MVA, 400/220 kV substations with two 125 MVAr, 400 kV bus reactors. It also covers five 400/220 kV interconnecting transformers, each with a capacity of 500 MVA, along with the associated 400 kV and 220 kV bays. Additionally, it also entails providing operation and maintenance services for the project.

The selected bidders are also required to conduct site surveys, select the project location, prepare detailed project reports, arrange project financing, and undertake project management. They are required to secure all necessary consents, clearances, and permits for the transmission project. The bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 209.3 million. Furthermore, the selected bidders are required to furnish a contract performance guarantee of Rs 523.3 million. Additionally, the bid submission deadline is April 6, 2026.
