Ola Electric Unveils New Lineup of Electric Motorcycles

Ola Electric Mobility has launched a new range of electric motorcycles to tap into the growing electric vehicle (EV) market. They have launched three variants – ‘Roadster X’, an entry level motorcycle, that can travel 200 km on a single charge; ‘Roadster’, that has a maximum range of 248 km on a single charge; and ‘Roadster Pro’ that has advanced driver assistance systems and AI technology.

The majority of Indian 2-wheeler EV market comprises electric scooters. Expensive motorcycles are approximately one per cent of the total electric 2-wheeler market.

Ola Electric is an Indian EV maker company and had gone public on August 9, 2024. This announcement has caused a significant increase in their share price. They raised $734 million through their initial public offer (IPO).

According to the government data, in July 2024, Ola Electric accounted for 39 per cent of total electric two-wheeler sales in the country.

In July 2022, Ola Electric had announced a $500 million investment in the establishment of a Battery Innovation Centre (BIC) in Bengaluru. In March 2022, Ola Electric invested in StoreDot, an extreme-fast charging EV battery developer.
