The solution is enabled by Nuvoton’s on-chip silicon signal processing design, including the low latency decimator (DECM) linear and non-linear filters; these low pass filters are valuable additions to the wireless real-time stream application. The NAU85L42YG is a high-performance audio quad ADC that supports both analog and digital microphone input signals for easy system integration. It includes one I2S/PCM/TDM output interface. The advanced on-chip signal processing engine includes a FLL to support various input clocks with auto clock detection (BCLK and MCLK). The device also features a wide supply voltage range and robust system protection.

Conventional quad ADCs without low pass filters will cause delay / high latency during audio data transmission on critical events, especially in real-time stream processing applications. It will cause a mismatch between audio and video streaming, bringing a worse user experience. Nuvoton’s new quad ADC design significantly addresses this challenge by reducing latency time to just one-sixth of what conventional quad ADCs offer. This improvement makes the NAU85L42YG an ideal solution for WiFi or Bluetooth wireless devices that demand low group latency to deliver an outstanding audio user experience.
