NTPC Limited has declared commercial operation of the final 41.6 MW capacity of its 176 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project at Ramagundam, Telangana. The first two phases, comprising 100 MW and 34.4 MW, had already commenced commercial operation. With the commissioning of the final phase, the entire 176 MW solar PV project has become operational.
Separately, NTPC has also declared commercial operation of the final 5 MW (2×2.5 MW) module of the 15 MW Bhilai Floating Solar Power Station of NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited, its joint venture company. With this, the entire 15 MW floating solar power station has become operational. Following these developments, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has increased to 90,904 MW, while its commercial capacity stands at 89,824 MW.
