Brookfield Asset Management and its affiliates (Brookfield) have announced the sale of a 1.6 GW portfolio of solar and wind assets in India to Gentari Renewables India (“Gentari”) in a two-phase transaction. With this, the first phase, involving the sale of 1 GW of operational assets, has been successfully completed.

Brookfield currently has an installed capacity of around 46 GW and a development pipeline of approximately 200 GW. Its assets, spanning North and South America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, encompass a diverse mix of hydroelectric, wind, utility-scale solar, and energy storage facilities. In India, Brookfield’s portfolio includes roughly 40 GW of wind and solar assets that are either operational, under construction, or in development.
