ABB India and ESSCI Launch Phase III of Smart Electrician Training Centre in Faridabad

New Delhi/Faridabad: Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), in partnership with ABB India, has launched Phase III of the Smart Centre for Electrician Training in sector – 86, Faridabad, aimed at creating a pool of industry-ready skilled professionals and expanding employment opportunities for local youth. The initiative was launched in the presence of Sujeet Gosain, Location Industrial Relation Manager, Faridabad, ABB India, and Saroj Apato, Vice President – Strategic Partnerships, ESSCI, along with representatives from both organisations.

The programme is designed as an end-to-end skilling and employment initiative, covering candidate screening and selection, industry-oriented training, assessment, certification and facilitation of local employment opportunities. The initiative is aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, particularly its emphasis on vocational education, practical learning and improving employability among young people. Under Phase III, selected candidates will undergo more than 540 hours of training over 90 days at the Smart Centre. Youth with a minimum qualification of 10th pass can directly visit the Walk-in Centre and enrol for the training programme. The curriculum is designed to provide participants with practical exposure and job-relevant competencies required to work effectively in the electrical and electronics ecosystem.

ESSCI will also work with industry partners to facilitate employment opportunities for successful candidates, thereby strengthening the link between skill development and jobs. The focus on placement is intended to ensure that participants are not only trained and certified but are also equipped to transition into the workforce. Commenting on the initiative, Shikha Gupta, Joint Director, Haryana Skill Development Mission, said, “This initiative is a significant step towards addressing the skill gap in the electronics sector. By focusing on both upskilling the existing workforce and training the youth, we aim to create a sustainable pipeline of skilled professionals ready to meet the evolving demands of the industry. We are also happy to see women actively participating in this initiative, which reflects the growing opportunities for women in the electronics and skilled workforce sector.”Saroj Apato, Vice President – Strategic Partnerships, ESSCI, said, “The ABB–ESSCI Smart Centre is helping bridge the industry skill gap by providing youth with practical and industry-relevant training. With Phase III, we are pleased to further strengthen this initiative and create meaningful employment opportunities for aspiring electricians.”

Sujeet Gosain, Location Industrial Relation Manager, Faridabad, ABB India, said, “We are proud to continue our partnership with ESSCI through Phase III of the Smart Centre. The initiative is equipping youth with job-ready skills while creating inclusive opportunities and contributing to the development of a future-ready workforce.”

The ABB–ESSCI Smart Centre has already completed Phase I and Phase II, providing industry-relevant electrician training, assessment, certification and employment support. With Phase III, the partners aim to build on these outcomes and further expand the skilled workforce pipeline in the region.
