Oswal Pumps Limited has received a letter of award from North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) for setting up 20 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects for 18,089 consumers in the Darbhanga circle in the state. The projects will be developed under the capital expenditure plus renewable energy service company mode in the utility-led aggregation model of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG-MBY). Each rooftop solar plant will have a capacity of 1.1 kW, with the total contract valued at approximately Rs 0.78 billion. The projects are to be commissioned within nine months from the execution of the respective power purchase agreements.
Furthermore, the scope includes the design, engineering, procurement, manufacturer’s quality assurance and factory testing, transportation, handling, storage, erection, including all civil, structural, electrical and general works, piping, cabling, installation, testing and commissioning. It also covers data acquisition and communication facilities for centralised monitoring, project financing, required permits, sanctions and clearances, and insurance. The scope also covers operation and maintenance of the rooftop solar systems for 10 years from commissioning and supply of the generated solar power to the concerned Bihar discoms.
In June 2026, Oswal Pumps secured orders for 63 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects in Bihar under the PMSG-MBY. The projects were awarded by NBPDCL and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited, covering 57,492 household installations across Motihari, Saharsa and Ara. The orders are valued at approximately Rs 2.47 billion, with an additional estimated long-term revenue potential of Rs 2.57 billion from energy supply over 10 years.
