Under the Scheme of Arrangement, Gujarat Gas Limited has been rechristened as Gujarat Energy Limited upon amalgamation of GSPC into GGL. Further, pursuant to demerger under the Scheme, the Gas Transmission Business that was being carried on by GSPL earlier is now being carried out by GSPL Transmission Limited.

The Scheme of Arrangement has resulted into holding of Government of Gujarat in Gujarat Energy increase from about 6% prior to Scheme to about 38% Post-Scheme. Similarly, the Government of Gujarat came to hold about 38% in GSPL Transmission Limited while it did not hold any shares directly in GSPL earlier.

Prior to Scheme becoming effective, during FY 22-23 to FY 24-25, total dividend pay-out for three financial years by Gujarat Gas to Government of Gujarat aggregated to approx. Rs. 81.55 Crores. Post the Scheme becoming effective, Gujarat Energy has paid a whooping Rs. 324 Crores in Dividend to Government for the single financial year of 2025-26.
