Low Carbon, a UK renewables investor, has won development clearance for a project in Lincolnshire, England, to build a 500-MW solar complex and an energy storage facility. According to the statement, the British Department for Energy Security and Net Zero approved the proposal.

The Gate Burton Energy Park is planned to be situated close to Gate Burton and will be connected to the Cottam substation of National Grid in Nottinghamshire, which handles power transmission. The photovoltaic (PV) park is anticipated to provide enough electricity each year to power approximately 160,000 houses once it is put into service. Approximately 350 employment are anticipated to be generated during the project’s busiest construction phase. According to the developer’s prior statement, construction might begin as early as 2025.
