Godrej Electricals Successfully Launches 12.5 MWp Rooftop Solar Project

Godrej Electricals and Electronics, a business unit of Godrej & Boyce has commissioned a 12.5 MWp rooftop solar project for a textile facility. Located in Madhya Pradesh, the project spans over one million square feet of manufacturing sheds and ranks among the largest rooftop solar installations in the country. Furthermore, the project is the first of its kind in the state. The project will generate green energy for the textile facility, with an anticipated annual saving of 17 million kWh of electricity. Godrej Electricals & Electronics is involved in similar projects across a range of industries, such as cement, textiles, automobiles, and pharmaceuticals.

In May 2023, Godrej Electricals and Electronics received orders totaling more than Rs 20 billion from the power transmission, railway, and solar sectors. The allotted projects to the company comprised engineering, procurement, and construction for 400 kV and 765 kV EHV substations in India, a gas-insulated substation with 220 kV underground cable in Mumbai, and a 132 kV substation project in Nepal.
