Awarded under the GreenPro Ecolabel framework, the certification evaluates products on parameters including responsible sourcing of raw materials, resource-efficient manufacturing practices, environmental impact, lifecycle performance and compliance with recognised sustainability standards. GreenPro-certified products also contribute towards green building rating systems such as IGBC and LEED.

The recognition was presented during the GreenPro Summit 2026 held at The Westin, Pune on July 30 and 31, where Walplast showcased its sustainable manufacturing capabilities and innovative green building solutions. The event brought together leading industry stakeholders and reinforced the company’s commitment to advancing environmentally responsible construction practices.

Commenting on the achievement, Kaushal Mehta, Managing Director, Walplast Products Pvt. Ltd., said, “Sustainability is becoming a defining factor in the future of construction, and product certifications play an important role in building confidence across the value chain. The GreenPro Ecolabel validates the work we have done to integrate environmental responsibility into our manufacturing processes without compromising on product performance. As demand for green buildings continues to grow, we remain focused on developing solutions that help customers meet evolving sustainability requirements while delivering reliable quality and efficiency.”

Sanjay Pawar, Head – R&D and Quality at DryChem India, added, “GreenProCertification reflects our continued focus on developing gypsum-based solutions that combine technical excellence with environmental responsibility. Every stage of product development, from material selection to manufacturing, is guided by efficiency, quality and sustainability. This recognition strengthens our commitment to offering products that support resource conservation, contribute to lower environmental impact and align with evolving green building standards in India and global markets.”

The GreenPro certification enhances the credibility of Walplast’s gypsum product portfolio by demonstrating compliance with recognised environmental standards while supporting customers pursuing sustainable construction practices. Certified products contribute towards green building certifications, encourage resource-efficient construction, strengthen ESG and sustainability objectives, and improve competitiveness across domestic and international markets.

Participation in the GreenPro Summit 2026 also provided Walplast with opportunities to engage with architects, developers, consultants and sustainability professionals, further strengthening its position as a trusted partner for environmentally responsible building materials.
