Voltalia has been awarded a 132 MW solar project in the Gabès region of south-east Tunisia by the Tunisian government. Construction of the Wadi solar project is scheduled to begin in 2027, with commissioning planned for 2028. This selection follows the earlier award of the Sagdoud project in May 2024 and the Menzel Habib project in December 2024. The Wadi project is located close to the Menzel Habib and Sagdoud sites, which is expected to allow shared use of construction, transport, and maintenance activities across the three projects.

Once operational, the project is expected to generate renewable electricity equivalent to the consumption of around 200,000 inhabitants. It is projected to offset around 120,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. With the addition of the Wadi project, Voltalia’s total solar capacity in Tunisia that is planned to move into the construction phase has reached nearly 400 MW. Furthermore, the project aligns with Tunisia’s national energy transition targets to increase the share of renewable energy in electricity generation to 30 per cent by 2030.

In January 2026, Voltalia secured a €244 million corporate credit facility from a consortium of 12 banks to refinance and extend existing facilities maturing in 2026. The syndicated financing, which may be increased beyond €244 million, supports the implementation of the SPRING plan announced in September 2025. The facility has a three-year maturity extendable to five years and comprises a €146.6 million revolving credit facility, including a swingline, and a €97.7 million term loan.
