The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency has issued a request for proposals for selection of developers to develop 600 MW grid-connected solar project. The project will be located in Jhansi solar park.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to furnish Rs 952,000 per MW as an earnest money deposit. The developers are required to submit performance bank guarantee equaling Rs 2.38 million per MW of the allotted capacity. The bid submission deadline is May 8, 2024.

A bidder, including its parent, affiliate, ultimate parent, or any group company, is allowed to submit a single bid, indicating a contracted capacity ranging from 50 MW to 600 MW. Project bids should be specified in 50 MW increments beyond the 50 MW threshold. A participant from a country that has a land border with India is qualified to engage in this tender solely upon registering with the competent authority. The project developer is required to state an annual capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of at least 19 per cent. Throughout each contract year, the developer must deliver energy to the procurer at the specified delivery point to achieve an annual CUF within a range of +10 per cent to -10 per cent of the declared annual CUF for the duration of the power purchase agreement. In order to minimise technological uncertainties and guarantee the prompt commissioning of projects, only commercially proven and operational technologies are allowed for implementation. The solar modules employed in the project must be included in the most recent Approved List of Models and Manufacturers provided by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. In December 2023, UPNEDA issued a tender to develop grid-connected rooftop solar projects aggregating 500 MW.
