Tirupati, India — Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has received a significant donation of 105 hearing aids valued at ₹20 lakh as part of its Sravanam project, which supports children with hearing impairments. The donation was handed over at the TTD administrative building by former TTD advisor for futuristic projects, Amar Nagaram, on behalf of his son Virat Nagaram, to TTD Executive Officer (EO) Anil Kumar Singhal. In an official statement, TTD noted that Virat Nagaram from Tirupati donated 105 hearing aids worth ₹20 lakh and personally handed them over to the EO. These devices will be distributed to children who successfully complete their training under the Sravanam initiative, helping them overcome hearing impairment-related challenges as they continue their developmental journey.

This contribution comes as TTD, the custodian of the world’s richest Hindu shrine, Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, is also engaged in large-scale preparations for the ongoing Panchami Theertham festivities at Tiruchanoor. TTD confirmed through an update on X that arrangements for the sacred occasion are in full swing, with the Pushkarini prepared for devotees to take the holy dip in a safe and well-managed environment. To accommodate thousands of visiting devotees, the temple authorities have arranged efficient queue systems, shelter facilities, drinking water access and comprehensive safety measures.

“This generous contribution will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children undergoing training under the Sravanam project. These hearing aids will empower them with better access to sound, education and everyday communication. We are deeply grateful to Virat Nagaram and his family for supporting this noble cause, and for standing with TTD’s commitment to inclusive welfare,” said Anil Kumar Singhal, Executive Officer, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

Amar Nagaram added, “This initiative is close to our hearts. Through this contribution, we hope to help children overcome hearing challenges and move forward with confidence. It is our humble offering towards improving lives and giving back to the society that has given us so much.”

Amid the festive season, the Tiruchanoor Sare procession from Tirumala commenced in the early hours of November 25. The pre-dawn rituals began with the traditional Parimalam procession, with the Sare being carried on temple elephants around the four mada streets before proceeding to Tiruchanoor, as noted in a press release dated November 24.

Alongside these events, preparations are ongoing for the 16-day “Shodasha Dina Sundarakanda Parayanam,” which will be held from November 28 to December 13 at the Vasantha Mandapam in Tirumala. The programme will begin with Ankurarpanam on November 27 between 7 PM and 8 PM at Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham. Sundarakanda Parayanam will be performed every day between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM, followed by abhishekam, homam and anushtanam from 9:00 AM to 12 noon. The event will conclude with Poornahuti on the final day, scheduled between 11:00 AM and 12 noon.

TTD continues to uphold its spiritual, cultural and social responsibilities with dedication, blending religious traditions with community welfare through initiatives like the Sravanam project.
