Sembcorp Industries has signed two non-binding Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha to explore the development of a green hydrogen production facility and an industrial park in the state. The MoUs were signed by Sembcorp’s wholly-owned subsidiaries, Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India Private Limited (SGHIPL) and Sembcorp Development LIMITED, in collaboration with the Industrial Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha and Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation.

Under the first MoU, SGHIPL will assess the feasibility of a green hydrogen facility in Odisha with a proposed annual production capacity of 720,000 metric tonnes. The facility is anticipated to create over 2,000 employment opportunities during its operational phase. The second MoU focuses on the potential development of an industrial park in Odisha, with Sembcorp Development Limited partnering with Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation.
