Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services (RUVITL) has issued a request for proposals to develop 8,000 MW solar projects in Rajasthan.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to furnish Rs 500,000 per MW of the quoted capacity as an earnest money deposit. At least seven days before signing the signing the power purchase agreement, the developers are required to submit Rs 1.2 million per MW per project as a performance bank guarantee. The bid submission deadline is June 24, 2024.

The developer will be responsible for establishing solar projects that are linked to the state transmission utility (STU) to provide electricity to RUVITL. Their duties encompass locating appropriate land, deploying and owning the solar installations, as well as securing connectivity, necessary permits, and integration with the STU network. The bidders, along with their parent companies, affiliates, ultimate parent companies, or any group companies, are required to submit only one bid, offering at least 4,000 MW of contracted capacity in the designated formats. The projects must be located in Rajasthan, which can include solar parks, and the pooling substation must be connected to the STU. The bidders are required to propose a single tariff for the entire capacity they are offering, and they can choose to set up multiple projects to meet their bid. Furthermore, every project must be designed to connect with the closest substation of the STU at a 33 kV or above voltage level. The developer must comply with the relevant grid codes, grid connectivity standards, communication system regulations for electric transmission, and other applicable rules set forth by regulatory commissions and the Central Electricity Authority.
