Reportedly, NTPC Limited is in ongoing discussions with the Bihar governmen to establish a nuclear power plant t in the Nawada district.
The state has formally requested the Ministry of Power to consider Bihar for a nuclear project, with the proposed site potentially drawing water from the Phulwaria dam. The proposed nuclear project will be developed as an independent initiative. NTPC is currently identifying suitable locations as part of its broader strategy to contribute 30 GW to India’s 100 GW nuclear capacity target by 2047.
