NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has entered into a joint venture agreement with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) to undertake the development of renewable energy parks in Maharashtra.
The company established through this collaborative effort will focus on constructing renewable energy parks with GW-scale capacity and will execute projects of such magnitude in a phased manner. This partnership is in line with NTPC’s green energy goals and represents another stride in the Indian government’s initiatives toward energy transition.
Recently, in February 2024, NTPC Limited issued a tender for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 26 MW floating solar power project. The project will be located at reservoir 1B of NTPC sipat thermal power plant in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.In the same month, NTPC Green Energy Limited entered into a land lease agreement with Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation to establish an integrated green hydrogen hub. Furthermore, NTPC Limited and National Aluminium Company Limited signed a MoU to investigate diverse alternatives such as coal-based thermal, solar photovoltaic, wind, other renewable energy sources, energy storage, or a combination thereof.
