Infinity Power and Masdar have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to provide a long-term supply of renewable energy generated by a significant onshore wind project in Ras Ghareb, located in the Gulf of Suez region. Upon completion, the wind farm will have a capacity of 200 MW and is expected to generate 810,000 MWh annually.

The output is anticipated to prevent 403,672 tonnes of carbon equivalent emissions each year, contributing to Egypt’s sustainability goals. This project is the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at expanding Infinity Power’s portfolio. Infinity Power is aiming for 10 GW of operational renewable energy by 2030. This capacity could provide electricity to 12 Million homes across Africa by the end of the decade, while also reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 15 to 20 Million tonnes annually.

In June 2024, Infinity Power signed a MoU with the Cameroon West Regional Council to develop up to 4 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2035. This initiative aims to meet the country’s growing domestic power requirements. The projects will be developed in different phases and will include a mix of solar, wind, hydro, biomass and battery storage solutions.
