Kundan Green Energy Commissions Luni Hydro Plant in Himachal Pradesh

Kundan Green Energy has commissioned a hydropower plant at Luni, Himachal Pradesh. It has a budget of approximately Rs 750 million. This will be the seventh operational plant in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The project was awarded in September of 2022. The Luni hydropower plant will bring operating hydropower capacities of Kundan Green Energy to 85 MW.

Currently, the existing solar, hydro and wind based installed generation projects of Kundan Green Energy stand at a capacity of 120.5 MW. Kundan Green Energy and its subsidiaries have four operational hydro power plants in Sikkim and three more are under construction, with larger capacities.

In April 2024, Kundan Green Energy announced its authorisation to build a new hydropower plant in Okhali, Uttarakhand. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the hydropower project will produce energy from 42 MW hydro project, with the potential to increase output to 60 MW in the future, significantly boosting Uttarakhand’s renewable energy capacity.
