JSW Energy Limited has commissioned the first 80 MW unit of its 240 MW (3×80 MW) Kutehr hydroelectric power (HEP) project located in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh.
With power dispatch to Haryana now commenced, the second unit has been synchronised and is undergoing trial run, while the final unit is expected to be synchronised shortly. The project is backed by a 35-year power purchase agreement with Haryana Power Purchase Centre at a ceiling tariff of Rs 4.50 per kWh with supply to Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited.
