Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has announced the winners of its auction to procure power from 250 MW of grid-connected wind power projects (Phase XI). NLC India Renewables secured 100 MW, while Juniper Green Energy and Powerica won 50 MW each. The three companies secured their respective capacities at a tariff of Rs 3.51 per kWh. Cu-Built Renewable Energy secured the remaining 50 MW at a tariff of Rs 3.52 per kWh. GUVNL will enter into power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the successful bidders for a period of 25 years. The tender was floated in May 2026.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work requires developers to set up grid-connected wind power projects, including the transmission network for connecting the projects to the central transmission utility/state transmission utility network. The projects may be located at sites selected by the successful bidders anywhere in India at their own cost, risk and responsibility. Only type-certified wind turbine models listed in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (Wind) will be permitted for deployment.
In July 2026, GUVNL signed PPAs with SJVN Limited for the procurement of green power from the company’s upcoming hydroelectric projects (HEP) in Himachal Pradesh. The projects include the 66 MW Dhaulasidh HEP, the 210 MW Luhri Stage-I HEP, and the 382 MW Sunni Dam HEP.
