Emeren Group has announced a co-development agreement with Arpinge. This partnership aims to develop a 300 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) portfolio in Southern Italy thereby enhancing Emeren’s presence in Italy’s growing BESS market.

In Italy, the company currently has about 1.37 GW in the permitting pipeline. Moreover, this partnership underscores Emeren’s commitment to high-value battery storage projects as part of its growth strategy along with supporting Italy’s transition to cleaner energy sources.

Earlier in April 2024, Emeren Group announced a successful partnership with Nuveen Infrastructure, formerly Glennmont Partners, to co-develop 199 MW (up to 1.59 GWh) of battery storage projects in two locations in Southern Italy. This partnership was a joint effort between Emeren and Nuveen, resulting in a combined power capacity of 354 MWp (with a potential capacity of up to 2.83 GWh).
