Boralex has entered into a renewable energy standard agreement with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Under this agreement, Boralex will procure Tier-1 renewable energy certificates (RECs) from its 250 MW Fort Covington solar project and 200 MW Two Rivers solar project. The projects have a total capacity of 450 MW.

The contracts were provided as part of NYSERDA’s 2024 Renewable Energy Standard Competitive Solicitation for the purchase of New York Tier-1 Eligible RECs. The solar projects are situated in New York. Construction on the project is expected to commence in 2026, with commissioning scheduled for 2028.
