Bondada Engineering Limited has secured a letter of award (LoA) from Telangana Power Generation Corporation Limited (TSGENCO) for setting up a 100 MWh (50 MW x 2 hours) battery energy storage system (BESS) project.
The project will be implemented under a tariff-based global competitive bidding route with viability gap funding, following the build-own-operate model. It will be located at Shankarpally, Telangana, near the 400/220 kV Telangana Transmission Corporation Limited substation and is aimed at providing “on demand” energy services. The total order value is approximately Rs 2.04 billion for a contract period of 12 years. The project is scheduled to be completed within 18 months from the date of power purchase agreement execution.
