Vikram Solar Limited has commissioned a 6 GW solar module manufacturing plant at Gangaikondan, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. The facility is located within a 186-acre greenfield campus. It is planned to expand beyond module manufacturing to include solar cell, wafer and ingot manufacturing, creating an integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem. Moreover, Vikram Solar plans to establish 9 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity by financial year (FY) 2026-2027, with further expansion planned by FY 2027-28.
In February 2026, Vikram Solar secured an order to supply 378.75 MW of solar modules for a project tendered by NGEL. The modules will be installed near Nakhatrana in Gujarat’s Kutch district as part of a 600 MW solar project being developed by Indian Oil NTPC Green Energy Private Limited, a joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation Limited and NGEL.
Also in February 2026, Vikram Solar entered into a strategic domestic cell procurement agreement with Jupiter International Limited for the supply of high-efficiency TOPCon and mono passivated emitter and rear cell solar cells. The agreement covers the procurement of 2 GW of Approved List of Models and Manufacturers-compliant crystalline solar cells and is valued at approximately Rs 20 billion.
