Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL), through its wholly owned subsidiary MEIL Energy Private Limited, has acquired a 100 per cent stake in TAQA Neyveli Power Company Private Limited from Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA).
The transaction adds a 250 MW lignite-based power plant in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu, to MEIL’s portfolio. With this acquisition, MEIL’s total generation portfolio now exceeds 5.2 GW, spanning thermal, hydro, and renewable energy assets. MEIL noted that the integration of the asset will be aligned with its focus on operational excellence and disciplined asset management.
