MNRE Expands ALMM with Additional 2.09 GW Solar Module Capacity

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has further increased the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by 2,094 MW of solar module capacity. The total module manufacturing capacity under ALMM now stands at 58,422 MW. The new entrants include SAEL Solar P6 (SAEL Solar) with 2,065 MW, and Grew Energy with 29 MW as additions to the current capacity.

The new list has removed ITI, Jyotitech Solar, SunField Energy, and Suryakamal Energy and delisted their capacities.

The provisional list sees new entrants in the form of Ganesh Green Bharat, with a 131 MW enlisted capacity, Unique Sun Power, with 43 MW enlisted capacity and 200 MW applied capacity, and Credence Solar Panels, with 500 MW enlisted capacity and 500 MW applied capacity.

The ALMM mandate was reimposed on April 1, 2024. Only modules from the ALMM must be used in projects that receive government subsidies.
