The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) has issued request for proposals to develop testing facilities, infrastructure, and institutional support to develop standards and regulatory frameworks under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. Proposals will be received from both the government and private sector entities. The central financial assistance (CFA) for the project will be provided by NISE. The proposal has to be submitted by September 14, 2024.

The main aim of this project is to build excellent testing facilities for various components, technologies, and processes used in the production, storage and transportation of green hydrogen and its derivatives.

For government entities, the entire cost of equipment, installation and commissioning will be covered. For non-government companies, 70 per cent of capital costs will be covered. Up to 15 per cent of total financial assistance can be covered as operational costs, distributed for four years after the project has been completed. A non-refundable fee of Rs 5,000 must be submitted by the entities seeking financial assistance.

The projects must be completed within the given timeline. Non-compliance will result in penalties in the form of 1 per cent of financial support.
