The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), in March 2024, had issued a tender for development of 1.5 GW electrolysers production capacity as part of the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition scheme, Tranche II. The overall capacity was divided into separate buckets. In bucket 1, electrolyser manufacturing capacity of 1,100 MW was tendered in which any stack technology could be manufactured. The allocation in bucket 2A was 300 MW that required the use of domestically developed stack technology. For bucket 2B, the 100 MW capacity for electrolyser manufacturing was tendered for smaller units of domestically developed stack technology.
For this tender, 23 companies have bid for developing 2,847 MW of annual capacity for manufacturing electrolysers. Of this, 12 firms have bid for 2,017.5 MW (bucket 1) of annual manufacturing capacity. The bidders are Adani Enterprises – 101.5 MW, Advait Infratech – 200 MW, Avaada Electrolyser – 300 MW, GH2 Solar – 105 MW, Green H2 Network India – 100 MW, Hydrosun Cleantech – 37 MW, Matrix Gas and Renewables – 237 MW, Newage Green Electro – 300 MW, Ohmium Operations -137 MW, Oriana Power -100 MW, Thermax – 100 MW, and Waaree Energies – 300 MW.
Meanwhile, four firms have bid for 534.5 MW (bucket 2A) of annual manufacturing capacity. It includes Adani Enterprises – 101.50 MW, Hydrosun Cleantech – 23 MW, Newage Green Electro – 300 MW, and Suryaashish KA1 Solar Park – 110 MW. While, 13 firms have bid for 295 MW (bucket 2B) of annual manufacturing capacity. The bidders include Adani Enterprises – 30 MW, Bharat Heavy Electricals – 10 MW, Brise Chemicals – 10 MW, C.Doctor & Company – 20 MW, Eastern Electrolyser – 30 MW, Greenzo Energy – 20 MW, Hydrosun Cleantech – 15 MW, IEC Fabchem – 10 MW, LiveHy Energy – 30 MW, Newtrace – 30 MW, Pratishna Engineers – 30 MW, RRG Engineering Technologies – 30 MW, Suryaashish KA1 Solar Park – 30 MW.
