Rajasthan issues tender for 768 MW solar projects

Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam (AVVNL) has issued four request for proposals to develop 768.4 MW solar projects as a part of Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM) feeder solarisation programme. The projects will be developed under the Renewable Energy Service Company model. The anticipated cost of the project is Rs 35 million per MW.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes design, provision, installation, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected solar projects along with the associated 33 kV or 11 kV lines connecting these projects to AVVNL’s substations. Additionally, it encompasses 25 years of operation and maintenance. The bidders are required to submit Rs 100,000 per MW as an earnest money deposit. The developer is required to furnish Rs 500,000 per MW as a performance bank guarantee. The bid submission deadline is April 15, 2024.

In total, there are 339 solar projects planned for 294 grid substations. The initial tender encompasses 94 solar projects, aggregating to 191.18 MW. The subsequent tender involves 100 solar projects, with a total capacity of 248.95 MW. The third tender includes 70 solar projects, with a combined capacity of 141.59 MW, while the fourth tender comprises 75 solar projects, totaling 186.68 MW. The winning bidders will qualify for central financial support equivalent to 30 per cent of the projected cost of Rs 35 million per MW from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, totaling approximately Rs 10.5 million per MW. Furthermore, the projects are required to be commissioned within 18 months from the signing of the power purchase agreement.
