DOE Begins Largest Solar Rooftop Installation in the Philippines

The Philippines’ Department of Energy (DOE) has commenced the country’s largest solar rooftop installation project called the JG Summit’s Merbau project.

The project is located in Barangay Simlong and Pinamucan Ibaba, Batangas City is expected to reduce both in-house and national grid power consumption. Meanwhile, the project is also expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of the complex and will produce an estimated energy savings of 17.8 GWh annually. Merbau Corporation, a subsidiary of JG Summit has completed nine 13.811 MWp roof-mounted solar power projects, which has reduced power consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
