Zypp Electric India’s leading EV-based startup in last-mile delivery has recently organised the launch of largest EV Logistics fleets with 100 out of two thousands EV two wheelers amid the current pollution buzz in the city. Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog has done the flagging off of the fleets. This was done to support the “Mission zero emission – Shoonya” a Joint Initiative by NITI Aayog and RMI which aims at reducing pollution by accelerating the deployment of electric vehicles for final-mile deliveries. Through this event, Zypp Electric showcased its mission of sustainability and greener future. In this event, Zypp Electric has flagged off a large fleet of EV bikes with delivery executives as a mark of EV adoption.
This flag off ceremony has started with the speech of Akash Gupta to all the riders. Then, Mr. Amitabh Kant addressed the riders about the aim of Zypp Electric and its contribution to curb the pollution level with deliveries with Electric Vehicles. Then, 100 electric vehicles of Zypp Electric was flagged off by Mr. Amitabh Kant and Mr. Akash Gupta.
This event was the first step towards Zypp’s motto to achieve a renewable and sustainable mode of last mile deliveries to achieve zero carbon emission by 2030. In this Event for the mark of safety, helmets were also distributed to all the riders. In this event, Ms. Akshima Ghate, Senior Principal, RMI India and Mr. Sudhendu Jyoti Sinha, Advisor, Infrastructure, Connectivity & Electric Mobility Vertical of NITI Aayog were also present.
On the inclusion of Zypp Electric in the campaign, Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog said “Zypp Electric set an example for the freight sector to go green. through the fastest option of electric vehicles. I am confident that the start-up community will lead India’s EV revolution by electrifying final-mile distribution.”
Logistics is growing day by day with the increase in the demands of the goods in a short span of time. To fill this gap NITI Aayog with RMI has started a campaign called Shoonya. Shoonya aims to fully electrify last mile deliveries. The vision of the campaign is to build awareness and demand for zero pollution delivery among consumers. With Shoonya, Zypp Electric will recognize and promote industry efforts towards fleet electrification. It will set the last mile delivery sector on a pathway to 100% electrification by 2030.
