Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited has signed an early contractor involvement (ECI) agreement with the special purpose vehicle of a leading global independent power producer for the development of a utility-scale solar photovoltaic project integrated with a battery energy storage system (BESS) in New Zealand. The project will be developed in consortium with two local companies. This marks the company’s entry into the Australia-New Zealand renewable energy market.
The ECI agreement covers preliminary project development activities and will remain valid for about four months. Upon successful completion of this phase, the project developer may award the engineering, procurement and construction contract to the consortium. If awarded, the project is expected to be executed over a period of 24 months.
