Voltalia to build 128 MW solar plant in Ireland

Voltalia has secured a contract from Ørsted to handle the engineering, procurement, and construction of a 128 MW solar power facility. The solar project is situated in County Carlow, Ireland. This new contract expands Voltalia’s footprint in Ireland, pushing the company’s total projects built or under construction in the country to over 540 MW. 

In 2023, Voltalia secured key projects including the 108 MW Timahoe North solar farm with ESB and Bord na Móna, and four additional photovoltaic projects totaling 230 MW for Power Capital Renewable. Earlier this year 2024 Voltalia won a major contract for the 75 MWt Middleton House project with ESB.

Voltalia generates and sells power from wind, solar, hydro, biomass, and storage facilities. With 3.1 GW of capacity active or under construction and 16.6 GW in development, the company has a robust portfolio. It delivers a full suite of services, including green electricity supply, energy efficiency solutions, and localised power production.
