Vikram Solar is set to establish a 1 GWh fully integrated solid-state cell and battery manufacturing facility, which can be expanded up to 5 GWh. This facility will incorporate a proprietary battery management system and leverage technology from its partner, Entity2 Energy Storage, which holds patents for non-lithium solid-state battery technologies.
The solid-states batteries are designed for greater power storage and enhanced safety and will be scalable to accommodate growing energy requirements. Vikram Solar indicated a focus on using components made in India for its battery production.
In February 2025, Vikram Solar Limited expanded its manufacturing capacity by 1,000 MW at its Falta facility in West Bengal. It also upgraded its Oragadam facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, enhancing production capabilities for high-efficiency solar modules, including TOPCon and HJT technologies.
