Kolkata : Vikram Solar announced the continuation of its partnership with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). For the second year running, Vikram Solar is back as Kolkata Knight Riders’ Clean Energy Advocate, and bringing with it a bigger ambition for ‘Sixes for Solar’: turning cricketing moments into real change for real homes. The initiative reinforces its commitment to driving sustainable impact at the grassroots level. Built on a simple yet powerful idea, every six hit by KKR contributes to solarising homes, enabling access to clean, reliable energy and reducing dependence on conventional power sources.

Through this initiative, Vikram Solar aims to accelerate solar adoption while addressing real-world challenges such as rising electricity costs, unreliable power supply, and pollution from generators, delivering both environmental and social value.

To mark the second edition, Vikram Solar has launched a new television campaign featuring KKR players Rinku Singh, Rachin Ravindra, and Finn Allen, playing out the kind of everyday situations millions of Indians will recognise.

When Every Six Creates a Home of Sunshine

In India, a six is one of cricket’s biggest moments, a symbol of power and celebration. ‘Sixes for Solar’ takes that impact beyond the boundary, touching and transforming lives through clean energy.

The film showcases everyday situations, a factory managing high electricity costs, a neighbourhood dealing with generator pollution, and a household facing a power cut. In each case, the solution is simple yet symbolic: “Ek Vikram Solar Six lagaa do.”

Each six then translates into visible change, rooftops solarised, generators replaced, and homes and businesses powered by clean energy. Through this, the initiative connects the excitement of cricket with a larger purpose, making sustainability more accessible, relatable, and impactful for communities.

Mr. Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman & Managing Director, Vikram Solar, said, Last year, ‘Sixes for Solar’ was about starting a conversation around what solar energy could mean for ordinary households. This year, we want to go further: every six should translate into a rooftop solarised, a generator switched off, and a power cut that doesn’t happen. Cricket reaches every corner of this country. If we can use that energy to make clean power feel less like a distant promise and more like something already underway, that is exactly where we want to be.”

Mr. Venky Mysore, CEO of Kolkata Knight Riders, said: “Cricket has always been about more than just the game for us at KKR, it’s about creating impact beyond the boundaries. As we continue our partnership with Vikram Solar for the second year, ‘Sixes for Solar’ is a strong example of that shared vision, where every six contributes to powering homes and creating meaningful change.”
