CHANGZHOU , China- Trina Solar ‘s State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology (SKL PVST) announced that its high-efficiency PERC solar cell, 210mm by 210mm, intended for the largest industrial surfaces, had achieved a yield of 24.5%, a figure confirmed by the National Institute of Metrology of China. It thus sets a new record for P-type 210 monocrystalline silicon PERC cells. This is the 24th time that Trina Solar has set a new world record, which attests to the company’s long-standing technological leadership.

Trina Solar ‘s technologies , multi-layer anti-reflection, ultra-thin metallization finger and super MBB, achieve the record efficiency of 24.5% for 210mm high-efficiency PERC cells for the most malls.

“We are proud to announce the latest achievements developed by our technical team,” said Le Yifeng Chen, Head of High Efficiency Cell and Module R&D Center at Trina Solar . “PERC is a very mature, low-cost industrial technology. Our latest achievement attests to the rigor and capacity for innovation of the Trina Solar R&D team for this successful mass production technology. We are determined to continue to invest in R&D in mass production technology and create greater value for our customers. »

Trina Solar has always focused on transferring innovative technologies to manufacturing in order to transform efficiency achieved in the laboratory into rapid industrialization and to consolidate technological leadership in the mass production of high-efficiency cells. Thus, high-efficiency and high-value products can benefit the entire photovoltaic industry.

As the industry evolves, the industrialization of 600W+ has become a common choice. The mature P 210 plus type technology has laid a solid foundation for the entire industry to enter the new era of ultra-high efficiency 600W+. With the joint efforts of partners across the value chain to strengthen coordination between R&D, manufacturing and application, the industrialization of the newest 210 performance will proceed at a very rapid pace, paving the way for the cost reduction for the photovoltaic industry.
