Sembcorp Industries, through its subsidiary Sembcorp Green Infra Private Limited (SGIPL), has been awarded a 150 MW solar power project integrated with a 300 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) by SJVN Limited. The project will be developed on a build-own-operate basis, and is expected to begin commercial operations within 24 months of signing the 25-year power purchase agreement. Funding for the project will reportedly be arranged through a combination of internal resources and debt.

The company secured the project in a competitive auction conducted by SJVN, at a tariff of Rs 3.32 per kWh. The project was part of a 1,200 MW solar project and 600 MW/2,400 MWh BESS project tender floated in September 2024.
