SECI Releases Tender for 2 GWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage System

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a request for proposals to establish 1,000 MW/ 2,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS). The projects will be located in India.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to submit Rs 341,000 per MWh per project as an earnest money deposit. The developers are required to furnish Rs 852,500 per MWh per project as a performance bank guarantee. The bid submission deadline is August 5, 2024.

The bidders are required to submit a single bid with total minimum and maximum project capacity of 50 MW/ 100 MWh and 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh, respectively. In order to minimise technological uncertainties and guarantee the timely commissioning of projects, only commercially proven and operational technologies are allowed for implementation.
