SECI Launches Land Acquisition Tender for 200 MW Solar Project in Madhya Pradesh

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a tender to appoint an agency to lease or purchase 800 acres of land in Madhya Pradesh. It is required for a 200 MW solar project. The final date to submit the bids is September 23, 2024.

The bidders have to pay a non-refundable tender processing fee of Rs 25,000 and Rs 2.21 million as earnest money deposit. Furthermore, the bidders should have positive net worth in the previous financial year and a minimum average annual turnover of Rs 44.2 million for the preceding three financial years. They should also possess a minimum working capital of Rs 27.6 million.

According to the tender guidelines, the winning agency will have to furnish 3 per cent of the contract value as performance security within 30 days from the issuance of the notice to proceed. After the notice to proceed has been received, the company will have five months to finalise land registration for SECI or complete the of lease deeds.

In August 2024, SECI put out a call for proposals for setting up green hydrogen hubs in India under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. Earlier in the same month, they issued a tender inviting bids for the development of 2,000 MW of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar projects with integrated storage facilities.
