SECI Calls for Bids on 400 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Projects

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a request for proposals for establishment of 400 MW inter-state transmission system connected wind-solar hybrid projects, Tranche IX. The bid submission deadline is July 29, 2024. The projects must be completed within 24 months of power purchase agreement being signed.

The declared annual capacity utilisation factor (CUF) should be at least 30 per cent. The winning developers are required to maintain annual CUF ranging between 90 per cent and 120 per cent of the declared value. Furthermore, SECI has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. Additionally, under the tender, only wind-turbine models issued by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, listed in Revised list of Models and Manufacturers will be allowed.

In July 2024, the SECI issued tender to establish 1,000 MW/ 2,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) in India.

In June 2024, the SECI issued tender for commissioning of 1,385 kW of grid-connected solar projects with 394 kW/ 1,117 kWh of BESS in Lakshadweep across four islands (Amini, Androth, Bitra, and Kadmat).
